Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?” Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” Then Joshua fell face down to the ground in reverence, and asked him “What message does my Lord have for his servant?”
The commander of the Lord’s army replied, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so.

Several years ago as I was praying I felt myself being taken in my mine to the courtyard of heaven to see Jesus. It was like a Spanish courtyard and beside a fountain surrounded by a pool was a man dressed in a white robe and sandals.
I have never forgotten this person. He welcomed me saying he was there to greet me and to do anything for me that I needed. He began to wash my feet and as he did so put me at ease about meeting Jesus. He was majestic in service. Later when I talked to Jesus I was given information about a meeting the next day, all of which came true. In a later vision
I was told about the respect other angels gave to the one who welcomed  me, and how many would step aside courteously whenever he came by.
I almost seemed to know that before I heard it; he was so humble. loving and kind.
He, it was, who was the leader of the angels I had seen before me that morning dressed in armour. Encouraged by the reading from Joshua and with permission from Bob Dunnett I shared what I had seen and heard.

As my brothers and sisters in Christ had prayed more earnestly I saw the angels more clearly and heard God giving me permission to talk to their leader.
“So you’ve come,” I said rather obviously. “No,” he said gently, “we’ve been here since the meeting began, you just haven’t seen us before. It’s not just your battle you know, it’s ours, you and us together. We are here now to stay with you and help you until revival begins.” I didn’t speak to the leader again but as I looked I saw each angel one at a time with people and areas where they were being attached, while explanations came from the accompanying voice of God.

The first angel I saw had a large blue square on his chest and was appointed to help Nick Cuthbert and the part of the city where he ministered. “The blue represents water for cleansing” said God and I pictured the waves of Cocks Moor Leisure Centre. This angel will help the churches in the Moseley area to become more Holy. As they pray and preach and strive towards righteousness and holiness he will help them.”
I thought of the prostitution in that part of the city, many heavily demonised;
I sensed that when revival comes they will be drawn into the local churches. Demonic spirits will show them if the church members are holy or hypocrites, unrepentant sinners will be exposed mercilessly; but those who have truly repented of their sin, however serious, and turned to the Lord, will win many for the Kingdom of God.
I believe in 2 or 3 years time Nick will see at least one Aids victim healed and this will be a sign to many.
The second angel was given specifically to Bob Dunnett and his organising committee, in the very heart of Birmingham. I was curious to see the colour and hear the explanation. It was flaming red representing fire. I saw the angel fanning dimly burning wicks into life with a single sheet of paper, which I took to represent a letter of encouragement or invitation. He is given to help Bob and his team to encourage others  wherever there is light burning in the city, however dimly, into visible and powerful fire. While still thinking of the City Centre.
I saw another angel who had a square on his chest; the outline was in black but inside the square reaching almost to the edges was a large white circle. “This angel is to help those who work amongst people of other faiths especially Muslims,” said God. “In the centre of their lives is a large God sized hole which is empty. The way forward is not a Mount Carmel contest nor even dialogue but to find families with sickness, need, demonic troubles, despair and purposelessness.
As you lay hands on them in their need, in the name of Jesus and no other, my power will come on them to heal and set free. As I meet their needs so some will find me.”
I saw a fourth angel given to Paul Miller and the churches of Erdington, to work amongst them and their Catholic friends. The square on his chest was green.
The angel would help them to find green pastures where to gently lead all who would follow. No preaching. No arguing over doctrine. Simply “come and see.” I thought of the Roman Catholic charismatic prayer groups throughout the city, and the need to constantly invite all Christian Churches in Erdington to all renewal and charismatic events.
And then I was taken completely by surprise with the appearance of an angel bearing a black square. I was caught off guard and spoke to the angel, which I don’t normally do unless they speak first. “Are you one of us?” I asked somewhat naively. “Yes” he assured me. “I have come to show solidarity with Christians in the Black Country. But look.” He unbuttoned one side of the black square and folded it over making a completely white square. “I am here to bring life out
of death,” he said.
I saw Christians in the Black Country moving alongside the brokenhearted, the deserted and bereaved. Many seemed to have suffered loss through tragedy
I wondered if a tragic accident might take place in the Black Country out of which would come new opportunities for the gospel.
Further North I saw an angel shining very brightly with a yellow glare coming from his chest. I thought God said Walsall and a man named John who would be present at the meeting. John Barnett from Hamstead on the road to Walsall was as near as we managed to find but the assigned area appeared to stretch across the top of Birmingham from Walsall, over Sutton Coldfield to Coleshill.
I saw a congregation spontaneously standing, lifting their arms in adoration and worship as the Spirit moved amongst them. A top priority for worship seemed to be the key.
In the far South an angel moved whose chest was a solid block of ice. God appeared to be saying the covens from Redditch through Bromsgrove to the Clent Hills and maybe taking in the Lickey Hills  was the Satanic activity doing most damage to the city of Birmingham. The challenge was intercession. Not uninformed praying but in the Spirit, through circumstances and the media, discovering when and where and praying specifically. The angel said, “I am specially equipped to attend coven meetings even when great evil is taking place. When you pray I will attend to distract, disturb and when possible destroy the cold works of the enemy.”
I sensed those who interceded would from time to time have encouraging signs that their prayers working alongside the angelic iceman had been successful.

“There is one more,” said God. “For you who are in the East.” I tried to guess what it would be but it seemed to me all the obvious primary colours had gone. When I saw him I could have kicked myself — the square was brown for the desert. I sensed the area would reach as far as Solihull.
“Look for the little plants that are already growing,” said God. “This angel will help you to nurture young shoots. Do not concentrate on the desert but the signs of life that are already springing up.” The phrase, “a bruised reed he will not break.” came to mind and I thought of Christians bowed down with disappointment being straightened standing tall and subsequently encouraging others.

THE EIGHT BIRM1NGHAM ANGELS
Rev. Peter H. Lawrence
During the pre-lunch session at Barston Vicarage on May 15th 1990, church leaders stood to pray, praise and break the Satanic strongholds over Birmingham. As they did I began to see a vision of angels dressed in shining armour, and the Lord seemed to speak to me concerning them and the churches of our city. I was worried about giving it so I asked the Lord for a sign to help me if He wanted me to do so. Almost as soon as the afternoon session began Paul Miller felt led
